These were one of the first groups to domesticate and heard cattle. People will pay between 5 and 7 thousand dollars for free range organic beef. Live in one of the harshest environments on the planet. Cross yaks and cattle to get a hybrid that better suites the environment. They make butter from the rich milk and drink butter tea as a main source of nutrients. Old testament begins in this region (beginnings of christian and islamic faith) This is the type of culture that jesus christ grew up in. When it gets very hot in the valleys the basseri would climb up the mountains and get to the top of the plateaus when the snow melted from them. As it got colder they would make their way back down the mountains letting the animals graze on the shelfs. When the winter came they would reside once again on the valley floors.
