Chapter 11: adhd, health impairments, and physical disabilities. Adhd have structural or biochemical differences in their brains (however not all individuals with adhd have brain differences compared to those without adhd) Must interfere with developing and educational performance. Students could qualify for assistance through the 504 plan if their disorder is not great enough to be supported through idea. Students with medications for adhd may have to take them during school. Teaches may have to work with doctors to find the correct dosage for the individual. This could mean taking the student off of the medication completely whi(cid:272)h (cid:272)ould (cid:272)ause the (cid:272)hild"s symptoms to worsen. Medications cause a loss of appetite and the child may refuse the medication because of the way that it makes them feel. Add only attention deficit no hyperactivity. Adhd and add are not differentiated by idea.
