Description
AS 101: LIGHT LECTURE 1 1 WHAT IS LIGHT? Light is radiative energy Light is an electromagnetic wave  Wavelength: Distance between peek to peek   Amplitude: Height of wave Electromagnetic Wave = Vibrating waves….. Red light V. Green light: Different wavelength Different frequency Same speed Blue is smaller and Red is longer  Light as a wave:  Amplitude   Wavelength  Frequency  Speed Wavelength (m) * Frequency (1/s)  = Speed (m/s) Electromagnetic System:  Radio  Microwave  Infrared  Visible = protozoans  UV = molecules  Xray = Atoms  Gamma Ray = Atomic Nuclei  Light = Wave and Particle:  Light comes in isolated packages called photons  Each package has a wavelength frequency and speed  You don’t get half protons 
