Religious and moral roots of modern human rights. Joining society means giving up what we believe in in order to conform. Mortality: religion is historically related to how societies set up their systems of morality. Consequences of rebelling: you are simply born into human rights, you can"t do anything to have your human rights taken away, you can"t sign your human rights away because they are inherent to who you are. Essence of the law: for your own well-being , limits on war doesn"t say war is wrong but talks about doing war the right way, concepts of the sabbatical year. Every 7 year you should grant a submission of debts. Every 7 years you forgive all debts. Concept of charity: help out someone in need. If they are not israelites but are in the community they still have a right for food, etc.
