COM CM 331 Lecture 6: Writing Brochures
Document Summary
Brochures are generally seen as a take-away item. Can be: educational, informative, persuasive, motivational, inspirational. Written with a specific purpose in mind (ex. marketing a product, recruitment, etc. ) Must link consumer interest with whatever you"re doing. Readers will scan the brochure before actually reading it. Brochures should have an attractive design paired with punchy language. There isn"t a lot of room for words and details you have to interest people enough to take the next step. You need a statement of benefit, which makes an explicit connection between consumer interest and your service. You also need a call to action what do we want the reader to do? . You should be asking three questions when writing brochures: Brochures are written with a more informal tone, and can speak directly to the audience ( you is effective) There is a level of salesmanship involved. You need to be able to compel the reader to take the next step.
