As soon as we are born, we are in need of touch of another person (a parent, a sibling ). Premature babies that practice skin-to-skin contact with mother or father tend to develop normally. Many investigators now believe that children"s early relationships with parents in uence the nature of their interactions others from infancy into adulthood, as well as their feelings about their own worth. In the third month of separation the withdrawal of the child becomes complete. Study done in the 1940s, when a lot of children were separated from their parents. Even though they received life necessities (food, shelter), they missed emotional and psychological support. These cannot be replaced by any physical thing (a toy or food) a child simply needs to create a bond with an adult. Otherwise, he or she will have emotional/ psychological/behavioral problem later on.
