There are more boys than girls with autism. A lot of kids with autism struggle with behavior. Media often focuses on this aggressive side, not the good side. Two important points: if you know one person with autism, it just means that you know one person with autism. Because they"re all different: a lot of what kids with autism experience is not so different than what other kids experience, except in its intensity and duration. Ex: some of us might have social anxiety. Kids with autism might have it too, but it will be more intense and lasts for a longer time. The autistic person might be a computer and the parent computer illerate . Don"t know how to press the right buttons. Autism is a spectrum, from mild to severe. They might not be able to communicate well, but can be very intelligent. Some people are non-verbal, but can type and type intelligent things.
