Emotions- reactions to events in our lives which encompass feelings, arousal, purpose, and expression. Behavior: facial expressions, gestures, latency, efort, persistence, choice, etc. Engagement: how actively involved a person is in a task. Self-report: interview, questionnaire which can be faulty due to subconscious motives. Motivation beneits adaptation and functioning: it is the means for taking corrective action. Motive strengths vary over time and inluence the stream of behavior. We are not always consciously aware of motives. To lourish, motivation needs supportive conditions: o o o. Sports: design exercise programs based on one"s reasons. Motivating others will require efort to be efective. There is nothing so practical as a good theory.
