Generalized reciprocity: distribution with no account kept and no immediate or specific return is expected (altruistic) Balanced reciprocity: clear obligation to return within a specific time limit goods of nearly equal value. Keeping numbers down: infanticide, contraceptives, birth spacing, less sex, carrying capacity of land. Lower than farmers, but both are lower than agriculturalists. Most common marriage systems for foragers and forager horticulturalists. All us states allow second cousin marriage; many allow first cousin marriage.
