Document Summary

Chapter 1 the roots of applied behavior analysis. Behavioral: solid research-based standard, evidence-based practices in the law. Does explanation provide reliable answers about what people are likely to do in certain situations? (ex of what person is likely to do: learn better, behave better, etc. ) Ca60: info on genetic and hereditary effects for students. Correlation: number that tells you how closely related 2 variables are. Range = +1. 0 (strongest ) to -1. 0 (weakest) Cause & effect: one variable makes the other variable happen. Nothing can be done to fix them. Ex- if student has allergies, there are ways. Structural (brain damage) to work around this. Can"t be fixed , but don"t want to get involved with circular reasoning. Circular reasoning: reason by beginning with the assumption that what you"re trying to prove is already true. Ex: the bible is true, so you should not doubt the word of god . Internal locus control: assume responsibility for your behavior.
