Document Summary

Formed by human hands and no longer a wild place. -the oceans, arctic, space, and jungles have been changed by mans actions. A genocide of people by new ideas. Nothing natural about pushing people away and ruining their ways of life. Environment can be see as a living being. In india and new zealand certain rivers have been given personhood so polluting them can be seen as a crime similar to attempting murder. -might gain the arctic more attention and help. -must give respect to it, something in return to avoid punishment such as future loss of resources. Us idea of conservation=put area aside and don"t touch it. Other places consider it interacting with nature/the environment but being cautious. It is a garden that needs to be tended to, not left alone without care. It was considered odd for briggs to want to be left alone while in the arctic.
