Appear in recruiting int: highly closed questions. Can ask respondents to select answers from list/choose from scale: bipolar questions. Answers easy to replicate, tabulate, analyze: disadvantages. Primary & probing questions: primary questions: intro. topics/new areas w/in a topic & can stand alone even when taken out of context. Essential when respondent doesn"t reply to ?/appears to be lying. Use when answer is incomplete/respondent seems hesitant to cont.
