Perennial plants usually rhizomatus (tillers under soil) or stoloniferous (runners above soilnew plants connected by new root system) both forms of asexual repro. Annual plants differ because reproduce with seed (germinate brand new plants, not connected) Mix of annual/perennial (can distinguish based on roots) Spikelets- see flowers assoiate in alternate positions (short) Racemes- alternating orientation but flower tissue is much longer. Panicle- branched orientations of flowers (substems put out shoots which result in small flower) Umbel- flowers coming out of large stems all out of one jointing position. Rays- bigger leaf like structures at bottom, layered.
