Fsh - follicle-stimulating hormone stimulates sperm production by pituitary gland *** It sends message testes resulting producing sperm. Hypothalamus releases lhrh (luteinizing hormone releasing hormone) Lhrh stimulates pituitary (is gonna control what"s in the testes) Releases lh stimulates testes to release testosterone (control of sperm production) Hypothalamus pituitary testes release testosterone + fsh . Lhrh is inhibited eventually resulting in decreased testosterone levels. Acth cortisol (shutting down crh shuts down acth, shuts down. Lhrh from hypothalamus inhibited causes decline in lh and fsh in pituitary (which shuts down sperm production) testes not functioning testosterone plummets and ceases. Endorphins and enkephalins block release of lhrh. Prolactin decreases sensitivity of pituitary for lhrh (also desensitizing pituitary to lhrh) Erection blood flow diverted to engorge penis (it only stays up cause of blood) Parasympathetic nervous system activation (causing diversion to exercising muscles)(needed to get an erection)
