You do not have to tell your whole life story but do not go into too much detail. Find ways to develop your speech creatively. Chronological order: main points follow time pattern. Topical order: divide the topic into main points. Main points: major points developed in the body. Transition: phrase indicating the end of one thought and flow into another. Speaking extemporaneously: a carefully prepared speech and rehearsed speech presented from a brief set of notes. Uses preparation but allows the speaker the freedom of a manuscript. Rehearse your speech out loud and in the mirror and time your speech.
