ENGL-1110 Lecture 1: Socrates
Document Summary
Socrates got in trouble for speaking the truth, or at least for speaking his own truth that went against what people thought. He stated his views clear and gave his ideas about life while this only led to some hating him for having different ideas which then leads to his trial, and ultimately, death. He got called out for almost trying to teach people that worse is better so to speak and that he was making peoples life worse because of this. In spite of this he kept saying his views and stating that people just do(cid:374)"t fully u(cid:374)dersta(cid:374)d (cid:449)hat he is thi(cid:374)ki(cid:374)g esse(cid:374)tially. The thing is this happens to a lot of people in life almost just not as severely, how people give their ideas and get judged or worse because of it.
