Document Summary

Na ve realism-believing things are what they seem to be. I am a thinking thing: mind and matter are logically distinct, the mind is free, we perceive with the understanding. Still to do: prove the world exist, disprove evil genius. He knows he exist because there was a clear and distinct perception . Four types of thoughts: affections-feelings, volitions- (act of will/wanting to do something) Ideas- (represents something, a conceptive perceptions)[ideas in middle of all thoughts] Types of ides: adventious ideas- (comes from outside world) Reality of an idea: objective reality- (more about the content, wha ever the idea expresses, formal reality- (whatever causes the idea to appear or happen) Arguments for the existence of god: cosmological causation, teleological design, ontological concept. Hume creates compatabilism- the face that both things are destined to happen and people can have free will can be true. Contrary is impossible (ex: all bachelors are unmarried man)
