ANEQ 102 Lecture 8: ANEQ 9/9/2016
Document Summary
We need to apply some sort of stimuli in front of the line of motion to get the turn. The balance point in front is turning and behind that is the go and the balance. Stimuli on the bridge of the nose. Makes it easier to go from halter to the sidepull. Nose piece, (made out of: rawhide, leather, cotton rope) Hangs the hackamore on the horses head. Reins that get tied in a knot under the chin groove. Traditional snaffle is normally broken in one place but can be broken in other places. A bit that does not have a direct relationship with the amount of pressure you apply and the amount of pressure that is stimulated. Purchase- the distance from the mouthpiece to the hanger. Shank- the distance from the mouthpiece to where the reins hook up. Mouthpiece- the distance between the two cheek pieces. Cheek- the length of the whole bit.
