Hypothesis: oxytocin might affect communication and stress responsiveness in human couples. Results: similar demographics, oxytocin increases positive behavior during conflict, placebo shows no change, boys groups showed no change during discussion, oxytocin group= lower cortisol after conflict, men vs women. Didn"t differ between placebo and oxytocin group. Research: 52 males, men who were given to oxytocin gazed longer and was able to communicate better, eye contact is positive communication. Parents are more secure than their children and use more prosocial conflict management styles: relationship experience effect and maturity effect. Being secure and having a secure partner associated with satisfaction as was owning a collaborative conflict style.
