Usually take a few days to weeks to develop. Make cysts passed in feces ingested cysts germinate in intestines giving rise to trophozoites that cause disease. Water the following beverages are considered safe. Boiled water or hot beverages made from boiled water. Water on the outside of cans and bottles may be contaminated! Food all raw food should be considered dangerous. The following foods should be of particular concern. Raw fruits & vegetables unless washed and peeled by you. General rule: cook it, peel it or forget it. Babies less than 6 months breastfeed or feed formula made with boiled water. Viruses: none; contact with hep a gamma globulin shots. Standard plating techniques may take days to weeks. Immunologic techniques use anti-pathogen antibodies to detect pathogens.
