Prenatal development of gonads: 7th week after conception, sex chromosomes direct gonads to differentiate, testes develop about the 7th week, ovaries develop at the 11th week. Prenatal hormones and genitals: mullerian ducts turn into fallopian tubes, uterus and upper part of the vagina, wolffian ducts turn into epididymis, vas deferens and ejaculatory duct. Sexual hormones in the male: testosterone masculinizing sex hormone, follicle stimulating hormone ( fsh) controls sperm production, luteinixing hormone (lh) controls testosterone production, gonadotropin-realeasing hormone- regulates pituitary secretion of gonad- stimulating hormones.
