Theory brings up more questions with any results. Observation a smart horse, knows math etc. Step one: testable hypothesis: horse getting answers from other people in the room that know the answer. Control = people who know answers in the room. Iv = independent variable, thing that you are manipulating. Clever hans: observer knowledge (treatment levels: someone knows answer vs. no one knows answer) Also, visibility of audience (levels: no blinders, blinders) Dv = dependent variable, thing that you are measuring. Theory: active learning is more effective than passive learning.
