Secular rationalist leaders could be seen as the enemy: the bonds of kinship, race, religion, region, custom, and language. Sometimes crisis turns people to a very rigid and traditional way of thinking: crisis of meaning, social anomie, economic marginalization. If there is one way of thinking forced upon an entire culture this can result in anomie: reifications--cannot take an idea and make it real by conceptualizing another civilization into simplistic forms. They are forced then to the conclusion that the victims finish this it is recorded.
