Moderate goals better than difficult and easy goals: difficult goals: not achieved often, does not reinforce motivation, easy goals: you do not have to be pushed which does not change behavior. Self-established goals lead to better results compared to coach or group determined goals. Praise is usually better: praise is better for introverts, criticism for extroverts. Sandwich approach: point out what they did right, talk about what they can improve on, then finish out with what they did right again. Experience of success: makes people feel confident and good about themselves: experience of success reinforces motivation. Experience of failure: makes people feel bad about themselves; anxious: failure reinforces detachment from activity.
