Broadly, it is a set of values, attitudes, beliefs, and rules for behavior by which we organize and give meaning to the world. Cultural sensitivity is an ongoing awareness of our own and other"s cultural contexts. Willingness to see the world from many different and equally valid perspectives. Each of us define the world based on our experience. You need to be able to suspend your lens temporarily to understand someone else"s perspective. What is true for them does not have to be true for you. The purpose of family is history, behavior standards, survival, nurture, support, provide basis for values, and social-emotional development. Values represent the intrinsic worth we assign to actions or belief that we deem important. Collectivist cultures u identity defined in terms of relationships.
