Nopal, sombrero, campesino, were all images that were constructed by these artist in their time. The revolution was not a political one but a cultural one as well. Architecture represents revolution, after the rev. it was mexicanized before all models were interpretations of european style. , Inspired for the elite or people of money (french) During porfirato illiterate people were not allowed in because it was not made for them. Architecture becomes more modern (functional and clean lines) it became the style of urban mexican planning. Gov"t allowed a new ambition to create a mexican identity.
