Overview: the exam will focus on the material covered in lectures, which largely includes content from your textbook. I will not ask questions from the book or mastering biology on material i did not cover in lecture. The exam will contain about 40 multiple choice questions and will be machine scored (scantron). Please bring your own soft-lead pencil (#2 or softer), eraser, and a form of id to each exam. You must also know your cu student id number, which you must include on your scantron. Helpful hints: spend study time wisely and do study. You can expect lots of application-level questions on exams. This means you need to know the material beyond simply regurgitating facts. Understand the terms hypothesis and theory in the context of science. Scientific theory is an explanation supported by large amounts of experimental evidence. Describe the characteristics of a scientific hypothesis. Know how it is different from a prediction.
