Depicts a contest between odin and frigg. Odin and frigg use their surrogate children, gerried and agnar, as pawns. Frigg goes ahead of a disguised odin and warns gerried to be weary of a traveler whom no dog will bite. When odin shows up in disguise at gerried"s door, no dog will go near him and gerried heads frigg"s warning. Gerried proceeds to place odin between two fires and offers him no food or drink. This torture goes on for 8 nights. After the 8th night, agnar comes and offers odin some food and drink.
