Document Summary

Public opinion is a way for citizens to get their voices heard. It is important to measure such opinions because it aids the population to be or get involved in social-economic-political events. Public opinions are measured through polls, where questions or a survey is asked to a random sample of the population on a particular event/subject. Since our government is a type of democracy, citizens are to be involved through such public opinion polls on imperative events such as the elections, health policies or immigration. Public polls may help with determining certain decisions because they would show the specific viewpoints of a certain culture or ethnicity, on an event. From the results, the city or the government may assist on what is needed for them. Additionally, polls would help in letting different ethnic groups understand one another because of the chance to speak for themselves, instead of letting one person represent the whole community.
