Common and concerning symptoms: headache, change in vision, vertigo, nosebleed/epistasis, goiter, double vision/diplopia, sore throat/hoarseness, swollen glands, heading loss/earache, tinnitus. Head: headache: one sided/bilateral, steady/throbbing, continuous/comes and goes? point to where it hurts, associated symptoms (nausea, vomiting, eyes/motor = migraine or brain tumor) (cough/sneeze/position change worsens it = brain tumor/acute sinusitis, primary headache. Tension: pressing/tightening pain increased with muscle tension. Migraine (with aura, without aura, or variant), unilateral, bi-frontal, or global, throbbing/aching, lasts 4-72 hours. Increased from alcohol, some foods, tension, noise, bright light, premenstrually can affect motor areas. Cluster: unilateral, behind eye, deep/continuous/severe, abrupt/within minutes, lasts up to 3 hours, increased from alcohol: secondary headaches: Analgesic rebound: increased by fever, co poisoning, hypoxia, withdrawal of caffeine depends on prior headache patterns. Headaches from eye disorders: around/over eyes, gradual onset, steady aching, increased from prolonged use of eyes. Acute glaucoma: in/around one eye/over maxillary sinus, aching/throbbing, increased from coughing, sneezing, jarring head, decreased from decongestants/antibiotics.
