Conditions of interest and test results of positive and negative. How likely you are to get each value. Base rate: number of people with disorder or trait of interest in your target population. Sensitivity: degree to which your test correctly identifies people with disorder. Specificity: degree to which your test correctly identifies people without. Goal is to maximize balance between sensitivity and specificity without or trait of interest disorder or trait of interest increasing or sacrificing false positive and or false negative rates at the same time. Positive predictive power: probability that test taker with a positive test score has disorder or trait. Negative predictive power: probability that test taker with a negative test scores does not have the disorder or trait.
