Home in on key themes, patterns of behavior, and emerging opportunities. Do not over rationalize your choices (work from the gut) Capture the feel of the idea, not a comprehensive description. Mood boards: gather visual material from magazines, the web, or even corporate promotions. Think fonts, colors, imagery and words that represent the idea. Use them as a tool to refer to in the future and check if your design goals are on track. Design gap - look for places where aws in the process leaves basic human needs unmet.
