Separates front and top of brain from lateral side of brain. Connective tissue covering around the brain and spinal cord. Very strong, semitransparent, outer most layer of meninge deep to cranial bones. Middle layer of meninge with lots of fibers that is mostly filled with fluid. Thin and delicate deepest layer of meninge that is transparent and arched to brain and spinal cord tissue. These layers are mostly protective but csf also supports brain and spinal cord tissue. Vein like structure coming from the fold of dura mater in fissures that drains blood from the brain into venous circulation and back to the heart. Forms double layers of dura mater inside fissures. Falx cerebi dural fold inside longitudinal fissure that folds down into coups callous madness.
