Document Summary

Organs of the muscular system each muscle is an organ. At the end of the muscle the epimysium, perimysium and endomysium merge to form the tendons that attach the muscle to bone or skin. Connective tissue surrounding each muscle fascicle containing blood vessels and nerves. Bundles of muscle cells inside the muscle fascicle. In general fibers are long and large and are multinucleate. 100 micrometers in diameter while the average cell is 8 micrometers. Connective tissue layer surrounding each muscle fiber containing capillaries, the neuromuscular function site and myosatellite cells. During shortening contractions the muscle pulls the insertion towards the origin. Embryonic muscle cells that fuse together to form larger cells while retaining their respective nuclei. Many myotubes merge to form large muscle fibers with many nuclei. Formed from infused myoblast that retain the ability of mitosis and can fuse with large muscle cells. Fuse with challenge or damaged muscle fibers = larger muscle fibers = stronger muscle.
