Tombs follow a standard layout antechamber linked to a main chamber by a short arched hallway. Interior is plastered and painted to mimic contemporary wooden structures. Skulls along with bone fragments lay inside the tombs. Manikins were modeled to represent a female figure. Forehead wrinkles, raised eyebrows, wide-open eyes, large norses, and thin lips, the faces appear strikingly individualized. Joints that allow free motion of the body. Contain the cremated remains of a deceased person. Each of the manikins has distinctive physical features that correlate to the specific identities of the tomb occupants. Physical body goes under restoration to be purified. All the belongings in the tomb are tools for the deceased to cultivate their bodies adn accumulate merits. Wine beneficial to one"s health, drink of the immortals. The real objects and images complemented each other in different positions in the tomb. Chinese burial practice preserve the body after death because it was needed by the deceased for the afterlife.
