Solar and infers radiation- the suns in short wavelengths (. 15-7) and the earth gives of a relatively longer wave (3-100) 30% re ected back to space by clouds, dust, or the earth"s surface. 20% absorbed in the atmosphere, mainly by clouds and water vapor. 50% absorbed by the earth"s surface forests, pavement, oceans, etc. What might cause these percentages to change? deserts, suburbs, etc. its going to cause a re ectivity on the surface. Deforestation- if trees are removed an replaced with pastures, Melting ice caps- the lighter surface re ects more light so as the white re ective ice melts it reveals more blue absorbing dark water that will absorb the heat and cause further heating up.
