Why we get sick, how we get sick. Risk factors that are important: stress, family history, poverty. Schizophrenia (in movies and stereotyped: often associated with violence and paranoia, delusions, hallucination. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (in movies and stereotyped: washing hands compulsively, rigid, counting repeatedly, super organized, invasive thought patterns. Interviewer needs to establish rationality and insight that the person understand that obsessions come from within him, helps differentiate ocd from something else: functioning but with a lot of things inside his mind. Psychopathy (in movies and stereotyped: crazy person, power hungry, lack of remorse and manipulative, criminal, smooth and fast talker, someone that hurts animals, highly intelligent, high iq. Borderline personality disorder: attention seeking, emotionally unstable, violent and obsessive. Interview (dialectal behavior therapy, dbt: needs help with coping mechanisms, i need to die - need to do something drastic to cope with life.
