Give 9 symptoms and which 5 did this person have
(know full diagnostic criteria) out of this scenario, which ones did this person meet
not cumulative
Mention duration of symptoms (how long needs to last)
Controversy of Iatrogenic initiated or caused by treatment or physician
therapists may plant false ideas in patients
Neurobiology of Stress resilience
3 rats in little boxes with wires strapped to tails
wires can deliver shocks
escapable rats can spin wheel to turn shock off doesn’t bother rats that much because its
uncontrollable
inescapable rat is connected to same shocks delivered to escapable rats, only turns off when
escapable rat spins the wheel (same time, same length of time) but this rat cannot turn it off if
they spin the wheel so shocks randomly turn on and off (uncontrollable) induces learned
helplessness in animal, even when you make it so they can escape, they don’t do anything
behavioral effect if you take inescapable rat and put them in escapable condition they don’t
anything. If you take escapable rat and put them in inescapable rat show resilience (eventually
can also induce learned helplessness if done long enough) differs in time for both rat.
Something about experiencing controllability is a mechanism of resilience
Stimulate mPFC for IS rat: Prevent helplessness
Deactivate mPFC for ES rate: Induce helplessness
Provide exposure to ES rat before IS: Prevent helplessness
“stress inoculation”
Know temporal constraints of diagnoses and rule outs
Know PTSD diagnoses (on the SLIDES)
Should know general dominant symptoms presentation of each disorder don’t memorize all
diagnostic criteria for all personality disorders
Allogia
