Information overload: occurring when the rate of information flow into a system/ and or the complexity of that information exceed the system"s processing capacity. Information overload impairs critical thinking, too much information makes it hard to distinguish useless information. In groups, sometimes we think it"s about how much information we give, but it"s about the quality that is taking in: technology has become a huge distraction. We can become in technology and trying distracted when using information to take. Find the disconfirming information and share it: vigorously present disconfirming evidence to the group: be persistent. Members will usually ignore information that disconfirms a strongly held belief unless: play devil"s advocate: challenge assumptions and claims of those defending a decision or solution in your group. Indicate that you trying to play devil"s advocate to avoid misunderstanding: gather allies to help challenge confirmation bias: women.
