Sag 105l4 lecture 2 story research. Every animation, film, or game has one thing in common, no matter the style or genre a good story. Again, whatever the story, when stripped down to its bare essentials, it can fit into one of the 7 basic story structures: overcoming a monster, rags to riches, the quest, voyage and return, comedy, tragedy, rebirth. It makes sense of 7 basic story plots: (wo)man vs nature, (wo)man vs (wo)man, (wo)man vs the environment, (wo)man vs machines/technology, (wo)man vs the supernatural, (wo)man vs self, (wo)man vs god/religion. One of the most important parts of any good story is fully developed characters. Produce an in-depth biograph for every character in your story. This allows you to understand why each character does what they do, whether good or evil. Think of how a typical man or woman from a certain period culturally identify themselves, to better understand them.
