42 views2 pages

Document Summary

Digital animation is not an actual lens-based medium. Therefore, a good knowledge and understand of motion-picture cameras and lenses is important in scene planning. These are part of the scene-planning process. In digital animation, it is easy to move cameras around: cameras should never be moved aimlessly. Track-out: focuses the audience"s attention on a particular area, reveals something to the audience. Pan: used to reveal, or to follow the action. Film cameras use lenses with varying degrees of focal length: similar to those in photography. When planning a shot, you may decide to replicate the effect of a particular lens type. Wide-angle lens: 20 mm or less, has a wide field of vision, allows you to incorporate more into the shot. Is roughly the same as a human"s field of vision. Telephoto lens: 80 mm or more, narrows the field of vision, focuses on distant objects, flattens the image. Use focus and depth of field when scene planning and directing.
