Abnormal psychology: a statistical infrequency, violation of social norms, personal distress (others), unusual, dimensional (exists on a continuum scale) and disability/impairment. Internalizing disorders- pepper is garlic - affects other people. Externalizing disorders- doesn"t feel anything is wrong with them (bipolar). Typicality- strange or not typical: naturally suspicious of things we don"t understand, afraid of strangers (sticking to your own group). Everything is related to a type of goal. Most of our reasoning (things that we do) is an internal and external moderation. Ways we identify ourselves (mind, body, identity, family, beliefs, and society). Demonology- demonic: some people think that the way certain people act is due to demonic behavior or evil inside of them. Astrology- believing people act the way that they do because of their zodiac sign. Psychogenic- originating in the mind or mental/emotional processes; having a psychological rather than a physiological origin. Hydrolics (pressure)- too much pressure in one place can cause distress.
