Document Summary

Good question: testable hypothesis theory is supported by a lot of evidence that is why evolution is still considered a theory. Hypothesis becomes a theory when it is repeatedly done and you arrive at same conclusion. Inductive (speci c to general; di cult to design experiment using this form) and deductive(general to speci c; mostly of commonly used) Hypothetical deductive model: common one; include control (important: unchanged parameter under experimental conditions; used to compare) and experimental variable. Evolution: connecting link btw all branches of biology. Natural selection: darwin observed variation always exists in population. Variation comes from constant mutation bc of competition bc resources are limited. Those in population with favorable traits due to mutation that help organism compete with others will survive and be able to reproduce. Ultimate goal: leave o spring with favorable traits so can pass on and survive. Population: group of individuals that can reproduce amongst themselves and produce fertile o spring.
