Organizational culture: ways of thinking, acting and understanding reflects the identity of the organization, four ways we convey organizational culture. Hierarchical language (chain of command: how you address your professor in an email, dear dr. or professor . Personal stories: who someone is, where you fit into an organization. Corporate stories: convey the values, style, and history of an organization. Collegial stories: told by other people that tell us what to expect from whom. Rites: dramatic, planned, some kind of activity we participate in. Rituals: routine, things to do on a personal basis. Roles we perform and rules that we follow. Roles: responsibilities and behaviors that are expected of people because of their specific positions. How you interpret some things: regulative. Policies occurs: formal statements of practices that reflect and upload the overall culture of an organization.
