Document Summary

Chap 9: the stages of cellular respiration, pay offs, oxidative and substrate level phosphorylation. Glycolysis: anaerobic, cytoplasm, 2 atp performed, 1 glucose, 2 pyruvates, substrate level phosphorylation intermediate step, convert to acetyl coa, 1 atp and nadh out. Krebs cycle: mitochondria, anaerobic, substrate level phosphorylation. Chap 10: the two stages of photosynthesis substrates and outcome. Difference between cam and c4 photosynthesis: aerobic, mitochondria, oxidative phosphorylation. Light reaction: sunlight absorbed, split water, oxygen given out, electrons energized and carried by electron carriers, photo 2, to photo 1. Atp produced is used in calvin cycle: photo 1. Slightly different wavelength, electrons energized, nadph enters calvin cycle. C4- get over photrespiration: produced 4 carbon compound, takes in co2, 4 carbon compound broken down and used. Chap 11: the three stages of cell signaling, different second messengers. Some can just pass, some require reception: transduction.
