Using persuasive writing to convince someone to do something or convince someone you are right about something. You can use certain figures of speech to convey your point. Rhetoric- the use of language, symbols, etc. to persuade (based on situation and audience) i. e. - sound, smell, images, colors, make sure you fit the d cor of your writing. Ethos (appeal to authority/ credibility), logos (appeal to logic), pathos (appeal to emotion) Angle of vision is the perspective of the writing. If she was talking to a medical profession she would be talking more about the effects the drugs would have on the development of the body and on the brain. If she was talk to teenagers she would talk about how the drugs would affect their appearance she would use more standard language instead of formal: filice. Wednesday: read chapter 11 in allyn and bacon; on discussion board - introduce yourself and your interests to the class.
