Communication - the process of sending and receiving verbal and nonverbal messages to create shared meaning. Interpersonal - communication between people with an identi able relationship. Small group - communication that occurs in groups of three to ten. Computer-mediated communication - communication that occurs when using technology that facilitates communication and interactive sharing through networks, email, texting, etc. Public - communicating to an audience of ten or more. Intercultural communication - communication that occurs whenever two or more people from different cultures interact. Mass - communication produced and transmitted via media to large audiences. Communication is not linear, it"s dynamic and transactional. The experiences we engage in as individuals affect the way we interpret messages and communication. Fear is perfectly normal in public speaking. Communication apprehension - the fear or anxiety associated with real or anticipated communication with others. Trait-like communication apprehension - feel anxious about speaking in most situations.
