While the main purpose of continuity editing is clarification of an event, main purpose of complexity is intensification. Complexity editing tends to affect subjective, rather than objective time. Probing the depth of the event and justice to the emotional intent of the scene. Main focus is establishing and maintaining an affective map in the viewers along with the cognitive mental map intact. Basic building block of complexity editing is te montage setting together or assembling. Montage is the juxtaposition of two or more separate event images that combine into a new of more intense whole (gestalt) Analyze event from its thematical and structural elements. Audience is forced to apply psychological closure to fill in the gaps, this draws them into the scene via participation.
