Document Summary

Cell body or soma: is where the nucleus located and produce component for the neuron new cells. Dendrites: part of the neurons that receive information from other neuron. Neurotransmitter: chemical messenger use for neuron to neuron communication. Motor neurons: conduct impulses to muscle and glands cell. Sensory neuron: affected by changes in the environment and respond to touch, light, and other senses. Interneurons: the path between motor and sensory neurons. It is more severe for adult in brain injury because of plasticity( if there is a part of your brain cannot function, plasticity help form new connection for the area that are not function properly) Action potential: a neural impulse; a brief electrical charge that travels down the axon to release neurotransmitter. Threshold: the level of stimulations required to trigger this neural impulse: (the force to press) * increasing level of stimulation above the threshold will not increase the neural impulses intensity.
