Second triumvirate - preservation of caesar"s reforms, get rid of any republican remnants left of (assassins, cicero, sextus pompey) Octavian and antony did not have the money to pay the legions. Brought back proscriptions kill more people than sulla did. Handing over wealthy cities to the military to be raided. Cicero gets proscribed, leads to his death (enemy of antony) Triumviri rei publicae restituendae restore the republic. Octavian has a difficult time taking out brutus. Antony destroys cassius, helps octavian defeat brutus after. B/c he did not succeed in battle. Fulvia (antony"s wife) and lucius antonius (brother) Antony just waits in alexandria with cleopatra and does not take a stance. Sextus pompey will get control over certain land.
